Coastal Furniture was started in 2015 by James with the aim of producing unique and quality furniture whilst saving valuable wood and resources from waste. All these years and thousands of pieces of furniture later, nothing has changed.
The company focus has always been on sustainability and recycling old wood into usable pieces of furniture. We predominantly use old scaffolding boards and whilst they may no longer be fit for use on a building site, we believe they are still an ideal resource for making furniture.
The rustic look makes our furniture stand out from other factory manufactured items of furniture, whilst also dramatically reducing the carbon foot print involved in the production process when compared to large scale factory produced furniture.

After graduating from Exeter University with a degree in Business Studies, James spent the following few years working in sales before deciding the office environment wasn't for him and he wanted to follow his passion for hands-on creating, making and building.
